Christmas Traditions
This time of year is always so much fun. You get to see your family more, play in the snow, go shopping for presents, and most of all bake holiday treats. In my family growing up, we always made sugar cookies with my dad.
It all started when I was a little girl, and my mom tried a new recipe for sugar cookies. It didn't work out at all- the cookies were burnt and flat. My dad offered to try making them. Everything went smoothly, and the cookies tasted delicious. It has been a tradition for my family ever since.

We have called it "Cookies with Grandpa" for the last twenty six years. Each grandchild gets to help Grandpa cut out their own cookies, and they all eagerly look forward to the little ball of cookie dough my dad would inevitably sneak them.
Now I have grandchildren of my own, and we have continued the tradition, changing the name only slightly. We all enjoy "Cookies with Grandma" every year.
I have eight grandchildren in all, and we all love getting together to roll, cut, bake and decorate sugar cookies.
Holiday traditions mean so much to us. They create memories that lasts a lifetime. I would love to hear about all of your traditions, and what they mean to you!
